The Italian brand Alberto Zambelli unveiled its Fall 2026 collection, SYNESTHESIA, during Milan Fashion Week.

For years, designer Alberto Zambelli has refined what he calls a paradoxical aesthetic: “maximalist minimalism.” This season, that philosophy ventures into deeper territory. Synesthesia—a world where sound transforms into form, scent takes on color, and light dissolves into the weave of fabric—serves not only as the collection’s concept, but also as its methodology. It is both vision and process.

At the structural core lies the logic of geometry. Silhouettes articulated through perspective and symmetry unfold as though reflected infinitely in a mirror, extending space and amplifying proportion. Yet within this rigorous framework, Zambelli introduces a palpable warmth. Neutral tones imbued with meditative stillness are punctuated by vivid accents of ocher and fuchsia. Restraint and release coexist in dynamic tension—a signature of the brand’s identity.

Material choices trace an equally intellectual dialogue. The sheen of padded iromuji silk, the quiet austerity of samurai-inspired tunics crafted from deconstructed archaic linens, and the sculptural volume of oversized coats and macro capes cut from raw-edged wool cloth each evoke distinct sensory memories. Pink-mauve nappa leather and caramel-toned shearling introduce a subtle sensuality, while wool-cashmere blends converse with fluid silks in lines that move like a light, effortless dance. Layered onto this is Zambelli’s ongoing dialogue with the East—expressed through continued studies of volume—culminating in a collection where form and function converge.

Since founding his brand in 2013, Zambelli has consistently pursued the elevation of contradiction into beauty: garments that are at once clean and decorative. Rooted in the craftsmanship of Made in Italy yet reinterpreted through a contemporary and deeply personal lens, his work arrives this season carrying a broader question—what does it mean to feel clothing, not merely see it?
