Alice + Olivia’s Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Is an Ode to the American Woman

On September 13, Alice + Olivia presented its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at New York Fashion Week.
The venue was New York’s historic Hall of Records, where designer Stacey Bendet presented a sweeping narrative that intertwined history, culture, and fashion under the theme of the “American Woman,” timed with the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
The 45-look collection drew inspiration from the pioneering boldness, charisma, and practicality that have defined generations of American women. Anchored in the brand’s DNA of American sportswear, the lineup spanned from daywear to eveningwear. A poppy red bias-cut jersey gown reimagined 1940s glamour in a modern silhouette, while the classic men’s suit was redrawn in long, lean lines, paired with a crisp white shirt and a loosely tied necktie. Preppy staples—including polos, collegiate knits, pleated minis, baggy jeans, and floor-length ball skirts—appeared in playful, vibrant stripes.
The palette blended bold primaries and soft pastels—poppy red, emerald green, navy, pale pink, and yellow. Fabric innovations showcased the house’s craft and experimentation, layering lace, burnout chiffon, and jacquard over organza, with embroidery, sequins, and beadwork adding texture and dimension. Eveningwear highlighted a journey through eras: dramatic Gilded Age ball gowns stood in contrast to a tailored tuxedo mini dress and a corseted jersey mini inspired by 1950s bombshells.
The staging was equally striking. Within the Hall of Records’ grand Beaux-Arts architecture, guests were greeted by a towering 20-foot Statue of Liberty clad in a gown printed with butterflies and American roses. A reimagined Constitution, titled We the Women, and an abstract American flag mural further symbolized the creativity and resilience at the heart of American culture.
Nostalgic yet playful, modern yet timeless, Alice + Olivia’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection stood as a vivid celebration of women’s strength, grace, and the enduring essence of American style.
