On October 16, bridal brand Daughter of Simone unveiled its latest collection, Moon River, at the iconic Hotel Chelsea in New York.

This season, the collection harmoniously fuses elements from different eras — Victorian-inspired box pleats, ’70s-style ruffles, and delicate scalloped French corded lace trims — creating a timeless yet modern interpretation of romance.

A Poetic and Romantic World Inspired by “Eternal Love”

The inspiration behind this collection lies in Henry Mancini’s classic song “Moon River.”
Founder and designer Brittany Castanos shared that the song evokes the deep affection and enduring love of her grandparents.

“‘Moon River’ was my grandparents’ song. Every time I hear it, I can see them again in my mind. They fell in love in the 1940s, and their life together was filled with the elegance of that era — crystal goblets and chandeliers, big band music, candlelit tables with cloth napkins, and roses my grandfather lovingly tended in the garden.”

Castanos reminisced about the serene, joy-filled days when her grandmother cooked while her grandfather played the piano — a memory that became the emotional core of this collection.

“Their love story and that song are intertwined in my happiest memories. This collection was created while I was feeling that same kind of everlasting love — the kind that’s dreamlike, gentle, and transcends time. In that moment, you realize — oh, so this is what love is truly meant to feel like.”

Where Nostalgia Meets Modernity

The Moon River collection captures a dialogue between nostalgia and contemporary spirit. Its vintage-inspired details and soft, romantic silhouettes reflect a quiet elegance, like moonlight rippling across still water, serene, luminous, and deeply emotional.
