On January 19, Giorgio Armani presented its Fall/Winter 2026 menswear collection at Milan Fashion Week. This season marked a new chapter for the brand, with the collection crafted by Leo Dell’Orco, who worked alongside Giorgio Armani for 40 years.
Cangiante: An Aesthetic of Unchanging Essence
At the heart of the collection lies the concept of “cangiante.” This Italian word, meaning “iridescent,” describes something that changes its appearance depending on the viewing angle while its essence remains unwavering. There could be no more apt metaphor for articulating Armani’s style.
Leo Dell’Orco’s vision emerged naturally from years of experience. This collection is a work that combines the fruits of that accumulated expertise with his own personal sensibility. With creative consistency as its axis, a style is born that reveals different expressions each time it catches the light.

The colors radiating particular presence are understated yet imbued with clear intention, possessing luminosity while never being overly assertive. Tones of olive green, amethyst purple, and lapis blue stand out quietly within a palette based on gray, beige, neutral, black, and deep blue.
The brand’s philosophy also permeates the choice of materials. Silky fabrics with iridescent nuances, such as velvet, crepe, and chenille, are combined with brushed cashmere, felt wool, and leather with a matte, rich texture.

Silhouettes flow softly, with relaxed volumes. The lineup includes blouson jackets, low-buttoned jackets, enveloping coats, shirts with and without collars, and wide pants that drape over suede shoes and boots. Even in winter wear, the easy elegance and subtle velvet-like sheen breathe consistently throughout.
Everything follows the body’s movement, never constraining it. Armani’s distinctive delicacy and effortless lightness are firmly maintained.

In knitwear, geometric jacquard cardigans are offered for both men and women. These are the result of a collaboration with Alanui.
Shine and Matt, the visible and the real. What emerges from this contrast is a unique harmony. Quiet surprises reside in material expressions as well—shearling with a velvet-like touch, silk that appears like denim. In eveningwear, even black takes on new dimensions through delicate nuances.
Accessories include an array of oversized tote bags and crossbody bags, belts with graphic buckles, wide-brimmed hats, and understated eyewear.

Throughout the collection, what is conveyed is an understated yet unmistakable individuality. The gaze captures what constantly changes, yet the essence remains unchanged—this is the spirit of “cangiante” that the collection embodies.
