On February 10, Ralph Lauren unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection ahead of New York Fashion Week.

At 86, Ralph Lauren continues to operate with remarkable creative momentum. In just the past month, he returned his New York–based house to the Milan Men’s Fashion Week calendar, designed Team USA’s official uniforms for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, and presented this latest collection. With age, his vision has only grown more powerful and refined. This woman’s ready-to-wear offering captures precisely where he stands today.

The show was staged at the Jack Shainman Gallery in downtown Manhattan. Towering murals of an imagined forest stretched from floor to ceiling, while Persian rugs lined the runway. The moody, mist-laden woodland setting created an atmosphere that felt at once romantic and faintly mythic.

“I love the adventure of fashion,” Lauren said. “The Fall 2026 collection is inspired by that kind of renegade spirit and the confidence of the woman who will wear it in her own personal way — to tell her own story.”

A Prelude of Strength and Sensitivity

The show opened with Gigi Hadid, who stepped onto the runway in a Donegal tweed corset paired with a matching pencil skirt, cinched with a chain-link belt, and layered over a dark-toned knit. By infusing classic tailoring with a subtle note of defiance, the collection’s central theme—a dialogue between softness and strength—was clearly established from the very first look.

A floral jacquard blazer was styled with hand-distressed barrel-leg leather trousers. A longline coat-and-trouser set was layered with a leopard-print shawl. Chunky knits shimmered with metallic embroidery and beading, where warmth and hardness coexisted in a single silhouette.

Elsewhere, modern interpretations of armor emerged—a sheer hooded tunic reminiscent of chainmail, evening gowns with a knightly sheen, and liquid-silver jackets with power shoulders. Medieval romance met Manhattan power dressing in a compelling exchange.

Reconstructing Heritage Through Material

More than fifty distinctive materials were used this season: tweed, velvet, jacquard, shearling, leather, and metallic foils. Lauren employed subtle illusions, reinterpreting the texture of Donegal tweed through cashmere knits and overprinting velvet column dresses with micro-sequins. The depth of craftsmanship was unmistakable.

An earthy palette—deep soil browns, stone-like grays, forest greens—anchored the collection. These grounded tones tempered any theatricality, bringing fantasy back to reality. Lauren’s belief that heritage is not stagnation but evolution was clearly expressed through both material and color.

Beyond Quiet Luxury

The collection did not rely on exaggerated trend statements, nor did it simply align with the hushed codes of “quiet luxury.” Instead, it suggested something more personal. A scarf-print dress toughened with a herringbone jacket. A beaded top layered beneath an oversized duster. These choices signaled not spectacle, but intention.

Adventure need not be loud. It can mean honoring tradition while rewriting it as one’s own narrative. In Lauren’s world, personal style is not about drama—it is about sustained momentum.

For Fall/Winter 2026, Ralph Lauren bridged heritage and fantasy to demonstrate the evolving state of his House. Unbound by time, yet never detached from it. The ability to present luxury that feels tangible, layered with myth yet grounded in reality—this endurance remains the brand’s defining strength.
