New York-born fashion house Carolina Herrera will hold a runway show for its Resort 2025 collection on November 14, 2024, in Mexico City.
This is the brand’s first attempt to present its latest collection in conjunction with the in-store calendar. Before the Resort Collection is presented, the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection will also be shown at New York Fashion Week in September.
Carolina Herrera was founded in New York City in 1981 by two designers, mother and daughter. Known for their classic, elegant style, their designs have long expressed a sophisticated femininity.
The mother, Herrera, was born in Venezuela in 1939 and immigrated to the United States when she was 12 years old. Originally raised as the daughter of a wealthy family, she was known for her elegance and style from a young age and was lauded as one of the best-dressed women of the 1980s. Her talent was also admired by prominent photographers from around the world, and with the support of Diana Vreeland, editor-in-chief of Vogue, she launched her first capsule collection in 1981. Her reputation was further enhanced in 1986 when she created the wedding dress for Caroline Kennedy, the current U.S. Ambassador to Australia.
Since 2018, Wes Gordon has been the Creative Director of the brand, continuing the Carolina Herrera DNA.
The brand also launched the lifestyle line CH Carolina Herrera in 2001. In addition, Carolina Herrera Beauty debuted a fragrance in 2016 and a fully customizable makeup collection in 2022.
Carolina Herrera is constantly evolving along with its history, flexibly adapting to new markets and fashion trends. This runway show in Mexico City will also be part of that innovation.
