Ginori 1735, the Italian luxury porcelain house, recently opened a restaurant, Café Ginori, in Bergdorf Goodman, a prestigious department store in New York City.
The restaurant’s fusion of Italian craftsmanship and modern dining takes guests on an eclectic culinary journey that is dynamic and unexpected. Café Ginori offers the perfect blend of bold, elegant, playful sophistication and refined style.
The interior of Café Ginori reflects the luxurious ambiance of Ginori 1735’s flagship store. The interior is decorated with textiles and furniture from the brand’s Domus home collection, featuring a sophisticated combination of the brand’s iconic motifs. In addition, Oriente Italiano wallpaper and embroidered cushions, pillows, and chairs add further elegance and charm.
In the dining space, the beautiful plate art on the tables deserves attention. Each dish is plated with meticulous attention to detail, creating a stunning presentation that blends porcelain and culinary art.
Ginori 1735’s Chief Executive Officer, Alain Prost said: “Ginori 1735 stands for art and beauty, we wanted to create Café Ginori to bring our spirit into the lifestyle world and conceive a new dining experience that – paying homage to the uniqueness of the Italian culinary tradition – surprises at every visit.”
Bergdorf Goodman’s Chief Retail Officer, Melissa Xides also commented, “Exceptional service is in our DNA and with the opening of Café Ginori at Bergdorf Goodman we’re thrilled to have this partnership come to life with such a historic brand. The stunning new destination fuses our strength in luxury experiences with Ginori 1735’s rich heritage of Italian hospitality and exceptional craftsmanship to offer a truly first-of-its-kind concept to our customers.”
A culinary journey through Italian classics
Caffe Ginori’s enticing menu is a creative reinterpretation of Italian classics with a modern twist. The lunch table setting features a mix and match of colors from the Oriente Italiano collection.
Once mixed at the table, a cream-colored beetroot risotto transforms into a vivid pink hue and is set against a complementary rose-colored print plate. Modern takes on classics such as Eggplant Parmigiana, Beef Carpaccio, Veal Ragù Tagliatelle, as well as entrée salads like the Insalata Lobster with frisée, endive, capers, and a lemon parsley emulsion are also available.
During tea time, it is offered a variety of teas and coffees, Italian sweets, and snacks, served in dramatic Labirinto or playful Il Viaggio di Nettuno patterns. An Italian cocktail hour called “Aperitivo” begins at 4:00 pm and light bites and refreshment cocktails are served, including Ginori 1735 aperitif cocktails.
All Ginori 1735 items sold at the café are also available at the brand’s newly opened store on the 7th floor.
Cafe Ginori is located on the lower level of Bergdorf Goodman and is open daily from 11:30 to 18:30. Reservations are recommended through OpenTable.
