On July 2, Bernard Arnault’s LVMH-owned Givenchy announced the appointment of Alessandro Valenti as its new CEO.
Givenchy CEO Renaud de Lesquen will step down after four years in the position, and Valenti will succeed him to lead a new chapter in Maison’s history.
With 25 years of extensive experience in the luxury fashion industry, Valenti worked for Versace, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren before joining the LVMH Group in 2014 as CEO of Louis Vuitton for France and Monaco.
Sidney Toledano, the CEO of LMVH Fashion Group commented, “Alessandro has 25 years of international experience. His extensive knowledge of the luxury goods industry, including more than 10 years at Louis Vuitton, his recognised expertise in retail and his managerial skills will be essential assets in taking Givenchy to new heights. I would also like to thank Renaud for his great contribution to the LVMH Group since his arrival in 2012, first at Christian Dior Couture, then at Christian Dior Parfums and more recently at Givenchy.”
Currently, Givenchy’s former creative director Matthew Williams retired in January of this year, and the studio team is designing collections without a creative director.
