On July 12, Los Angeles-based brand Amiri opened a new store in South Coast Plaza. This marks Amiri’s second location in California, following its flagship store on Rodeo Drive.
The new store was designed by creative director Mike Amiri in collaboration with the American architectural design firm Two One Two Design. The magnificent iceberg blue marble facade creates a prestigious atmosphere, and the 3,000 square foot store reflects Amiri’s distinctive California aesthetic.
In the interior, natural tones and white oak furniture and fittings contrast with colorful onyx accents. Velvet, mohair, and handwoven checkered blue rugs across the floor add a touch of luxury to the space while travertine finish white plaster walls provide a modern backdrop for the brand’s collections and artistic collaborations.
The store features men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, as well as kidswear, footwear, and accessories. In addition, there are exclusive offerings of the House’s signature the Skel Top Low and Micro Bag MA in limited-edition glitter colors.
In a press release, the brand described the store as “an evolution of the Amiri retail concept first introduced at Amiri Rodeo Drive, uniting different creative disciplines within a single environment.”
The store, which also functions as an “open gallery” where fashion and culture intersect, showcases custom pieces from Detroit-based artist Jason Revok’s ongoing “Instrument Frame Drag” series, as well as contemporary artist Oksana Schön’s handcrafted custom wood wall pieces.
Founded in 2014, Amiri currently operates a total of 16 stores in major cities around the world, including Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Dubai. The company is now preparing to open a new store in the NorthPark Center in Dallas, Texas.
