Estée Lauder

On September 30, The Estée Lauder Companies announced that Mark Loomis, Group President for North America, will retire at the end of fiscal year 2025 after 28 years with the company.

His successor will be Tara Simon, the current Global Brand President of California Brands, who will assume the role of President of North America. Additionally, Amber English will take on the role of President, Digital and Online, in North America. This new leadership team will take over on January 1, 2025, ensuring a smooth transition before Loomis’ retirement.

Fabrizio Freda, CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies, made a statement regarding this leadership change, saying, “Mark guided the business strategy in North America, maintaining a steadfast focus on the consumer amid the shifting beauty landscape, and while leading our Asia/Pacific region, he oversaw regional strategies that supported business acceleration and commercial operations to drive growth. We are grateful for his contributions and dedication to the Company.”

Freda continued, “As we embark on the next phase of growth for North America, Tara and Amber bring incredible experience that make them uniquely well-suited to capture the promise of this evolving market while advancing our strategy and ambitions. Together, their leadership marks a new chapter of growth in North America, by launching new products and taking existing ones to new audiences, fueled by relevant, compelling and differentiated marketing, and serving our customers wherever they prefer to shop.”

Tara Simon, who will become President of North America, will primarily lead Estée Lauder’s North American retail strategy, focusing on department stores, specialty shops, and standalone stores. Simon joined Estée Lauder in 2020 after her time at Ulta Beauty and has since led the growth of California Brands, including Too Faced and Smashbox. She has been highly regarded for her success in marketing and consumer engagement, particularly in introducing several prestige brands to Ulta Beauty.

On the other hand, Amber English will oversee North America’s digital and online strategies, driving the company’s e-commerce efforts. Her career is built on 14 years of experience in digital marketing and e-commerce at Amazon, where she made significant contributions, especially in the fashion and beauty categories. English aims not only to grow online sales but also to enhance the overall online shopping experience, providing consumers with a seamless and engaging brand journey.

Estée Lauder plans to continue its strategic focus on growth in the North American market by deepening consumer engagement through innovative product launches and marketing efforts. With Simon and English at the helm, the company is poised for further regional success.
