Amid ongoing shifts in the fashion industry, Italian luxury brand Missoni has announced a major change in its leadership. Filippo Grazioli, who has been the brand’s creative director for two and a half years, will step down. In his place, Missoni has chosen Alberto Caliri, a long-standing member of the company, to take over the creative helm.
Grazioli, who took on the role of creative director at Missoni in 2022, brought fresh energy to the brand’s iconic vibrant color palette, adding a modern touch to its designs. Throughout eight seasons, he has pushed the boundaries of creativity at the fashion house. Grazioli commented in the statement, “I am now ready to face new challenges and explore new frontiers’. The fashion industry has experienced many shakeups in the past week, we hope that Grazioli can move on to bigger, brighter things.”
Alberto Caliri, Grazioli’s successor, has a rich history with the brand. He has worked closely with Angela Missoni for 15 years, serving as her right-hand man. Notably, in 2021, he was appointed to lead both the men’s and women’s collections when Angela stepped down from her creative leadership role. This latest appointment reflects the company’s deep trust in his long-standing contributions.
In addition to his work on Missoni’s apparel, Caliri has also led the brand’s home line, guiding it through a period of unprecedented growth. One of his standout achievements was the successful launch of the “Resort Club” project, which introduced Missoni’s iconic style to luxury resorts around the world, offering immersive experiences in the brand’s lifestyle philosophy. More recently, in June of this year, Missoni forged a partnership with U.S. airline Delta Air Lines, introducing new amenity kits and lounges featuring the fashion house’s signature designs.
Under Caliri’s leadership, the fashion world will be watching closely to see what direction Missoni takes next.
