Louis Vuitton has recently opened a new store and café, “Le Café Cyril Lignac,” at London’s Heathrow Airport Terminal 2. In recent years, the brand has been reinforcing its position as a Maison of travel and culture, focusing on expanding its hospitality business as a key growth area.
The new Louis Vuitton store was designed in collaboration with renowned art architect Marc Fornes, known for his futuristic designs. Fornes leads “THEVERYMANY” in New York and also worked with Louis Vuitton to create a striking pavilion installation at the 2023 Milan International Furniture Fair.
The store’s entrance is characterized by a futuristic dome shape, highlighting the use of advanced technology. Inspired by travel, the interior design incorporates red, yellow, blue, and white as its primary colors. The store offers a wide selection of women’s items, along with some men’s accessories and leather goods.
Adjacent to the store, seamlessly integrated into the space, is Louis Vuitton’s café, “Le Café Cyril Lignac.” The café’s warm interior features orange and gold tones, complemented by playful, colorful mobiles designed by Atelier OI, adding a sense of whimsy to the space.
This café collaboration with the renowned French chef Cyril Lignac is a first for Louis Vuitton. Lignac, known for his fusion restaurants and patisseries in Paris, Saint-Tropez, and London, brings a casual yet refined culinary style that has earned him high praise.
At the café, guests can enjoy a wide range of dishes curated by Lignac, from breakfast options like Royal Eggs, croissants, and avocado toast to lunch selections such as Croque Monsieur, lobster rolls, and beetroot salad with goat cheese. For dessert, Louis Vuitton’s signature pastries and a Mango Eton Mess add a special touch to the dining experience within the airport.
The tableware at the café features Louis Vuitton’s “Art de la Table” series, including dishes and table mats, showcasing the brand’s attention to detail and refined aesthetic.
Since 2020, Louis Vuitton has opened over 20 restaurants, cafés, and airport lounges worldwide, but this is the first time they have expanded into the UK. Previous notable locations include “Le Café V” in Ginza, a seasonal restaurant in Saint-Tropez, and an airport lounge at Doha International Airport. Each location is uniquely designed, providing a distinct Louis Vuitton experience.
The new Louis Vuitton store and “Le Café Cyril Lignac” at Heathrow Airport offer travelers a chance to experience the brand’s latest venture into hospitality. It is a must-visit for those traveling through London.
