On November 15, luxury brand Louis Vuitton unveiled its temporary Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City. This new location serves as a substitute during the three-year renovation of its main flagship store and features the first-ever Louis Vuitton café and chocolate shop in the United States.
Located at 6 East 57th Street along Fifth Avenue, the new flagship welcomes visitors with an atrium showcasing Louis Vuitton trunk towers designed by architect Shohei Shigematsu. The store’s design emphasizes sophistication with bookshelves, art installations, and displays of iconic handbags.
The spacious interiors offer a comfortable shopping experience, complete with three VIP shopping suites that provide a private and exclusive setting. The store also includes New York-themed collector’s items to appeal to visitors.
One of the standout features of the new location is the much-anticipated U.S. debut of “Le Café Louis Vuitton” and the chocolate shop “Chocolat Maxime Frédéric.”
Officially opening its doors today, “Le Café Louis Vuitton” has already become a sensation, with reservations fully booked for the next two months. The café operates from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays, serving an indulgent selection of breakfast, lunch, and tea service throughout the week. Guests can secure their reservations via Resy.
The library-inspired café is a product of an exclusive collaboration with Starr Restaurant Group, led by the acclaimed restaurateur Stephen Starr, the visionary behind iconic New York dining establishments such as Pastis and Le Coucou.
The menu, meticulously curated by chef Christophe Bellanca and pastry maestro Mary George, formerly of Daniel, embodies the refined artistry of French cuisine. Signature dishes include truffle-infused eggs “à la coque,” elegantly presented in their shells and paired with crisp, buttery brioche soldiers for a truly indulgent experience.
Diners can start with a Caesar salad, elevated with the choice of sasso chicken or shrimp, before savoring mains such as delicate black bass, a decadent scallop soufflé, or a tender, perfectly cooked filet mignon.
Desserts feature France’s traditional “entremets,” multi-layered creations available in vanilla, hazelnut, and chocolate—each considered signature Louis Vuitton flavors, designed to delight.
Although “Le Café Louis Vuitton” marks its U.S. debut, the brand has already introduced exclusive dining experiences in major global cities, including Paris, Bangkok, and China. Just last month, Louis Vuitton also opened “Le Café Cyril Lignac” at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2 in London.
Louis Vuitton continues to strengthen its reputation as a maison of travel and culture, with hospitality emerging as a vital area of growth. The New York “Le Café Louis Vuitton” embodies a unique fusion of fashion and fine dining, offering guests an unforgettable experience in an extraordinary setting.
