In fall 2025, Louis Vuitton will unveil ‘La Beauté Louis Vuitton’, a new addition to its beauty category.
For its first-ever makeup line, the brand has appointed world-renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath as its creative director. McGrath has been creating runway makeup looks for Louis Vuitton for over 20 years, and now, she will play a central role in shaping the brand’s makeup strategy.
A Makeup Collection Four Years in the Making
The ‘La Beauté Louis Vuitton’ lineup includes 55 shades of lipstick, 10 types of lip balms, and 8 eyeshadow palettes. These products have been meticulously developed over the past four years, merging Louis Vuitton’s signature aesthetics with cutting-edge beauty technology.
One of the defining features of this collection is its design and storytelling, deeply rooted in the brand’s heritage. The number 55 for the lipstick shades is derived from the Roman numeral representation of Louis Vuitton’s initials, “LV” (L = 50, V = 5).
Louis Vuitton has a long history of offering beauty accessories such as vanity cases, powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors. This collection will carry on that tradition, introducing exclusive lipstick cases and mini trunks designed specifically for the new beauty line.
Sales Limited to Exclusive Boutiques
Louis Vuitton’s makeup products will be exclusively available at its own boutiques. The initial launch will be rolled out to 116 stores worldwide in the first year, with plans to expand gradually across the brand’s extensive global network of over 400 boutiques.
In 2016, Louis Vuitton introduced its first fragrance line, which saw double-digit growth in 2024 and continues to perform strongly in 2025. This success has paved the way for the brand’s expansion into the makeup category. Additionally, Louis Vuitton plans to further expand its beauty offerings over the next five years.
McGrath shared her vision for the project, stating: “The beauty universe is so much more than just product, and what we’re creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty.”
