Jil Sander Appoints Simone Bellotti as New Creative Director

On March 10, Jil Sander announced the appointment of Simone Bellotti as its new Creative Director. The brand had only recently revealed that Luke Meier and Lucie Meier would step down as Creative Directors following the presentation of the Fall 2025 collection last month.

Bellotti is a designer known for his research-driven approach, drawing inspiration from art, photography, and music. He spent 16 years at Gucci before holding key design roles at prestigious fashion houses, including Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferré, and AF Vandevorst. Most recently, he served as the Creative Director of Bally, where he revitalized the heritage brand with a fresh perspective.

Commenting on the appointment, Renzo Rosso, Chairman of OTB Group, stated: “Simone embarks on this journey with extensive experience and a distinct talent. Over the time spent together we shared the strategic vision and mission for Jil Sander, the values of innovation and sophistication that make it an iconic and unique brand.”

The brand also said that Bellotti “developed a keen obsession for detail, interpreting archival references with innovative directions. A passion for research informs Simone’s eye, as he draws on art, photography, and music for inspiration.”

Bellotti himself shared his excitement about joining Jil Sander, saying: “I am incredibly honored to join Jil Sander, a storied house that created a new aesthetic with its unique approach and strong identity, and that has always had such a significant influence on the design community. I am grateful to Renzo for the trust, and I am keen to contribute to the house’s full potential.”

OTB Group recently announced the appointment of Serge Brunschwig, former Chairman and CEO of Fendi, as its Chief Strategy Officer. With the group’s leadership structure evolving to drive further growth, Bellotti’s vision and creative leadership will play a crucial role in shaping Jil Sander’s future.
