BODE Opens Its First International Flagship Store in Paris

BODE

The New York-based fashion brand BODE has launched its first international flagship store in Paris during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025. Following locations in New York and Los Angeles, this marks the brand’s third store. The project, which took nearly nine years to come to fruition, was spearheaded by the brand’s founder and designer, Emily Adams Bode Aujla.

A Location Where History and Modernity Intersect

The new store is located on Rue de Valois, nestled in a historic district adjacent to the Ministry of Culture and the gardens of the Palais Royal. The space, originally a restaurant, has been transformed to reflect the unique aesthetic of the brand.

“We took our time to find the right spot; this one had the right square footage, great location near the shops in the Palais Royal, and ample window space, including one that looks out on the Place Valois,” Bode Aujla shared in an interview with CFDA.

A Fusion of American Craftsmanship and French Elegance

The store’s design was overseen by Green River Projects, led by Aaron Aujla, Emily’s husband and business partner. The couple meticulously refined every detail of the space while commuting between New York and Paris. Emily conceptualized the design from New York, while Aaron made multiple trips to oversee construction, which was managed on-site by his cousin.

The interior is predominantly white, accented with trompe l’oeil marble and wood-paneled walls. Antique pleated lampshades with fringe and an arched vintage mirror contribute to a mood that is both classic and contemporary.

One of the key inspirations behind the space is Charles Ritz, a French hotelier known for his love of American outdoor culture. This influence is evident in the décor, which features bamboo fishing rods and baskets from Pezon et Michel, a historic French manufacturer, reinforcing the store’s storytelling aspect.

Furnishings include sofas upholstered in French silk and repurposed vintage shirting, antique French furniture sourced in the U.S., and a table deaccessioned from the National Bank of France. Vintage family photos of Bode further personalize the space, adding warmth to the interior.

A Store Offering Exclusive Limited-Edition Items

To commemorate the opening of the Paris store, BODE has introduced a collection of exclusive items that embody the brand’s core philosophy of reconstructing vintage textiles. The lineup includes one-of-a-kind garments crafted from century-old French linens, camisoles repurposed from piano shawls, and caftans reconstructed from vintage lingerie. Other unique offerings include neckties adorned with hand-tied fly fishing details, traditional French berets, and playful cotton thong underwear embroidered with the Eiffel Tower (€180).

With its distinctive use of materials and innovative designs, the Paris flagship is more than just a retail space—it is a manifestation of the brand’s philosophy, poised to become a significant new hub in the fashion landscape.
