On March 12, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) announced significant executive changes at Louis Vuitton, Loro Piana, and Christian Dior Couture. This leadership reshuffle underscores the group’s strategy of fostering leadership through internal promotions.
New Leadership Structure at Louis Vuitton, Loro Piana, and Dior
Damien Bertrand, currently CEO of Loro Piana, will assume the role of Deputy CEO at Louis Vuitton. Succeeding Bertrand, Frédéric Arnault, CEO of LVMH Watches (which oversees TAG Heuer, Hublot, and Zenith), will take over as CEO of Loro Piana. Additionally, Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, who currently leads Fendi, will become Deputy CEO of Christian Dior Couture. While LVMH has not yet announced Angeloglou’s successor at Fendi, an official statement is expected soon.
Frédéric Arnault will join Loro Piana on March 26, 2025, for a transition period with Damien Bertrand before officially taking over as CEO on June 10. Bertrand will transition to Louis Vuitton on the same day, where he will be responsible for driving brand strategy as Deputy CEO. Meanwhile, Angeloglou will join Dior on April 15, reporting directly to Delphine Arnault, overseeing commercial strategy, finance, and legal affairs.
LVMH’s Talent Strategy and Growth Plans
LVMH has long prioritized internal talent development, and these latest appointments reflect its commitment to promoting experienced leaders from within. By strategically positioning accomplished executives at its leading brands, the group aims to further strengthen its competitiveness in the luxury market.
LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault commented on the leadership changes:
“The success of our maisons is driven by dedicated and visionary leaders.”
He further stated, “Damien, Frédéric, and Pierre-Emmanuel bring exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and a commitment to excellence. Their appointments reflect our strategy of cultivating top talent within the group.”
New Leadership at Louis Vuitton and Dior
Damien Bertrand previously served as Managing Director at Christian Dior Couture, overseeing the women’s, men’s, and baby divisions. His transition to Louis Vuitton positions him under the leadership of Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, where he will play a key role in shaping brand strategy. Beccari, who was promoted from CEO of Dior to lead Louis Vuitton in 2023, will once again collaborate with Bertrand.
Similarly, Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou has a history with Louis Vuitton and has previously worked alongside Delphine Arnault. At Dior, he is expected to drive commercial strategy, finance, and legal operations, contributing to the brand’s continued expansion.
Frédéric Arnault to Lead Loro Piana’s Growth
Loro Piana, a relatively understated brand within LVMH, does not have a creative director, fashion shows, or flashy collaborations, yet it has seen remarkable growth in recent years. According to industry sources, Loro Piana’s annual revenue has reached approximately €2.5 billion, making it LVMH’s third-largest brand in the fashion and leather goods division, following Louis Vuitton and Dior.
LVMH anticipates that Frédéric Arnault’s leadership will further elevate Loro Piana’s growth, stating, he will “build on his passion for exceptional quality and his leadership skills to take Loro Piana to the highest level of excellence, while ensuring the maison stays true to its unique savoir-faire.”
This executive reshuffle is a strategic move to reinforce the group’s competitiveness in an evolving luxury market. In particular, the restructuring comes in response to the luxury sector’s slowdown in 2024, positioning LVMH for sustained growth in the years ahead.
