Loro Piana Unveils Immersive Installation “La Prima Notte di Quiete” at Milan Design Week

Loro Piana

Luxury brand Loro Piana unveiled its first collaboration with Dimoremilano — a rising name in the world of architecture and interior design — through the immersive installation La Prima Notte di Quiete at Milan Design Week, which opened on April 8.

The installation was set in the courtyard of “Cortile della Seta,” located at Loro Piana’s headquarters in central Milan (Via della Moscova 33). Inspired by apartments from the 1970s and ’80s, the space opened with a theatrical atmosphere reminiscent of a vintage cinema, guiding visitors into what felt like a cinematic experience brought to life.

The immersive presentation unfolded as a fully furnished residence, seamlessly connecting an entrance hall, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a small garden. Rich red velvet curtains, leopard-patterned carpets, and brass details enhanced the visual and tactile appeal, embodying Loro Piana’s philosophy of “The Art of Good Living.” Auditory elements such as the sound of rainfall, water overflowing from a bathtub, and soft piano melodies stimulated the senses, blurring the line between reality and fiction.

Commenting on the project, Damien Bertrand, CEO of Loro Piana, stated:
“We challenged ourselves, together with Dimoremilano, to push the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship. This installation embodies Loro Piana’s art of living through exceptional materials, meticulous attention to detail, and a rich, sensory experience.”

Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, the founders of Dimoremilano, added:
“Our collaboration with Loro Piana signifies the merging of two distinct identities, united by a shared dedication to detail and deep exploration of materials. Our aesthetic language interweaves the quality and texture of fabrics, creating a balanced contrast that enriches both the space and the experience of those who inhabit it.”

Inside the residence, visitors encountered a series of new furniture pieces made with Loro Piana Interiors fabrics. Highlights included the Quarona poufs and coffee tables, featuring curved wooden bases and upholstery in Ladakh cashmere, wool, and alpaca; the Valsesia dining table with a lacquered finish; and the Varallo round bed with tubular steel construction. Other pieces included the Locarno cabinets—reminiscent of museum showcases—and the Trivero chairs and armchairs, which combined velvet upholstery with brass accents and lacquered wood.

The installation also marked the debut of a new tableware collection, Punti a Maglia. Handcrafted in Limoges, France, each piece is decorated with a knotted-thread motif, symbolizing the brand’s deep-rooted expertise in textiles.

The installation is open to the public from Tuesday, April 8, through Sunday, April 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Visitors can make reservations via the dedicated website: https://booking.loropiana.com
