ZARA Unveils Grand Anniversary Film “50 Years, 50 Icons” – A Collaboration with Steven Meisel and 50 Iconic Models

50 Years, 50 Icons

Spanish fashion giant ZARA is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a bold and visually stunning project titled “50 Years, 50 Icons”, created in collaboration with legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel. The short film brings together 50 iconic supermodels—including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Carla Bruni—to honor ZARA’s legacy and vision for the future.

The project was initiated by Marta Ortega Pérez, Non-Executive Chair of ZARA’s parent company, Inditex. Rooted in her long-standing friendship with Meisel, the film serves as a heartfelt tribute to creativity, fashion, and the collaborative spirit that defines the brand.

“I Feel Love” and Fashion Icons United

Set to Donna Summer’s timeless track “I Feel Love,” the film showcases 50 models dressed in ZARA’s latest collection. Styled by Karl Templer, the monochromatic tuxedo-inspired looks radiate timeless elegance. Beauty was led by makeup artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Guido Palau, with art direction by Jason Duzansky and casting by Piergiorgio Del Moro—all long-time creative partners of Meisel.

Among the diverse cast of models are Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Imaan Hammam, Paloma Elsesser, Sora Choi, and Twiggy, representing a global mix of generations and cultures. Each was selected as a symbol of ZARA’s evolution and enduring presence in fashion over the past five decades.

Speaking about the vision behind the film, Marta Ortega Pérez shared: “Creativity is at the core of ZARA—it defines who we are,” said Marta Ortega Pérez. “This extraordinary film by Steven Meisel represents the magic of creative freedom we always strive for. These 50 women are not only admired for their beauty but also for their individuality, strength, and character. This campaign is a tribute to the last 50 years—built by our team with passion, talent, and endless creativity.”

The “50th Anniversary Collection” worn by the models in the film officially launched on May 9 via ZARA’s global online store. To mark the milestone, the brand unveiled a 128-piece collection that includes tailored suits and refined wardrobe essentials, with prices ranging from $26 to $459.
