Kering Group

On June 10, Kering Eyewear, a subsidiary of the Kering Group, announced its acquisition of the Italian lens manufacturer Lenti. This move marks a significant step toward strengthening the company’s in-house development and production capabilities for sunglass lenses, further expanding its industrial footprint.

Lenti, based in Bergamo, Italy, has been part of leading eyewear group Safilo since 1996. The company currently employs around 100 people and is renowned for its expertise in molding and surface treatments for a wide range of vision-enhancing and protective applications, including sunglass lenses, visors, lighting components, and protective parts used in the automotive and motorcycle industries.

The acquisition is part of Kering Eyewear’s ongoing industrial strategy and represents a pivotal move toward establishing a fully integrated, Made in Italy production system for high-quality sunglass lenses. The decision reflects the company’s commitment to excellence in quality, innovation, and performance.

Roberto Vedovotto, Founder, President, and CEO of Kering Eyewear, commented:
“We have appreciated the excellence of Lenti’s products for many years, and we are very proud to see it now joining Kering Eyewear, providing an additional area of expertise to our platform of best-in-class manufacturing skills, facilities, and, more than anything else, talents.”

Kering Eyewear was established in 2014 as a dedicated division overseeing the eyewear business for Kering’s portfolio of brands. Since its inception, the company has pursued a strategy of vertical integration through strategic acquisitions and partnerships. The acquisition of Lenti stands as a symbolic milestone in this ongoing journey.
