L’Oréal Groupe, the world’s largest beauty company, has officially launched the first call for applications for its new global initiative, the Sustainable Innovation Accelerator. Designed to merge innovation and sustainability to shape the future of beauty, the program will invest a total of €100 million over the next five years to accelerate the industry’s sustainable transformation.
Uncovering Next-Gen Solutions for a More Sustainable Beauty Industry
Rooted in L’Oréal’s long-standing culture of innovation, the accelerator program focuses on pioneering technologies in the following key areas:
- Low-carbon and climate-smart solutions
- Elimination of fossil-based plastics and reduction of plastic waste
- Development of alternative ingredients and sustainable packaging materials
- Low-impact manufacturing processes
- Water resilience and management
- Nature-based solutions
- Inclusive and sustainable business models
Startups, SMEs, and established companies with ready-to-pilot solutions in these areas are encouraged to apply. Selected participants will benefit from tailored support, including coaching, mentorship, pilot opportunities, and, where applicable, investment.
A Global Scale-Up in Partnership with the University of Cambridge
The accelerator is operated in partnership with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Selected companies will participate in a custom acceleration program of up to 12 months, supported by CISL’s extensive global network of over 40,000 professionals and deep expertise in sustainable business development. The partnership aims to co-create the future of sustainable beauty.
