Muse, the jewelry boutique originating from New York’s West Village, opened a new location in early July at Nordstrom’s flagship store in New York. This marks the brand’s first retail partnership and positions Muse as a central presence in Nordstrom’s newly reimagined jewelry hall.
Founded by Jennifer Shanker, Muse began as a jewelry showroom in the West Village in 1999. Since then, it has earned a reputation within the industry as a trusted tastemaker, committed to discovering and supporting independent jewelry designers. For fashion- and culture-savvy clientele, Muse offers a thoughtfully curated selection of fine jewelry alongside “jewels for the home” — a collection of distinctive lifestyle and interior items. The boutique is known for creating an approachable and elegant shopping experience that challenges the conventional image of high-end jewelry as overly formal or exclusive. Leveraging her refined eye and extensive network, Shanker has become a key figure in connecting designers with wholesalers, retailers, stylists, and media across New York’s jewelry scene.
The new shop-in-shop is located on the first floor of Nordstrom’s flagship store at the corner of 58th Street and Broadway in Manhattan. The space showcases a range of distinctive designers, including Bea Bongiasca, Beck, Daniela Villegas, Nouvel Heritage, and Ten Thousand Things.
In addition, the assortment includes vintage glassware from The End of History, resin objects by Tina Frey, ceramics by Casa Alfarera, hand-blown glass pieces by Paul Arnhold, and lacquer-finished jewelry boxes by Trove.
The store design incorporates rich materials and tactile details that embody Muse’s distinctive sense of discovery and sophistication. Moving forward, the space will host storytelling-driven installations and a variety of events, offering customers a shopping experience filled with creativity and joy.
