On August 8, Tiffany & Co. opened its first-ever Blue Box Café in Japan, located on the fourth floor of its largest flagship store in Asia, Tiffany Ginza in Tokyo.

Drenched in the iconic Tiffany Blue, the café offers a one-of-a-kind space where luxury meets gastronomy. Under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Natsuko Shoji, guests are invited to experience an elevated dining menu that beautifully fuses New York and Tokyo’s culinary cultures, all while enjoying sweeping views of the Ginza district.

The interior design is the work of acclaimed architect Peter Marino, while the terrace features a stunning floral installation by artist Azuma Makoto. Works by renowned contemporary artists such as Johan Creten and Roe Ethridge further enrich the space, creating a multisensory experience that delights the eyes as much as the palate.

“Blue Box Café by Natsuko Shoji is set to become a new cornerstone of Tiffany’s legacy, culture, and creativity,” says Shoji. “Located in Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most celebrated culinary hubs, the café offers an inventive menu that highlights the natural beauty of Japanese ingredients while bringing together the spirit of New York and Japan.”

The World of Elegance × Innovation by Chef Natsuko Shoji

The concept behind the café is “a dining experience as art” — where Tiffany’s timeless heritage meets Chef Shoji’s refined sensibilities. Each menu is crafted with seasonal Japanese ingredients, prioritizing both visual elegance and exceptional depth of flavor.

Inspired by the iconic scene from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the breakfast set features a delicate dashi-based soup, citrus-accented Fuji no Sukesuke salmon from Yamanashi, and a medley of handmade delights including Shoji’s signature brioche, vanilla-scented yogurt, and house-made maple granola — all elegantly served on a tea stand.

Afternoon Tea: Tiffany’s Aesthetic in Three Tiers of Delight

Tiffany’s signature afternoon tea, a favorite at the New York flagship, has arrived in Ginza. Served on a three-tier stand, the offering includes macarons inspired by Tiffany Blue, vanilla cheesecake, and Shoji’s iconic fruit tart — a highlight of the season. In August, the fruit tart is joined by a fresh peach tart with a refreshing strawberry sorbet.

The second tier features an exquisite array of desserts: vanilla cheesecake, financier, praline chocolate ganache, and the aforementioned macaron — each designed with sophistication in mind.

On the bottom tier, savory bites echo the precision of fine jewelry, including cucumber sandwiches, mushroom and crab sandwiches, caprese, a salted tart with cherry trout and avocado, a mortadella and egg open sandwich shaped like a flower, pickled ground cherries, and two types of scones — delivering a perfectly balanced savory finish.

All-Day Dining: A Celebration of Seasonal Flavors

The à la carte menu is extensive, spanning from appetizers to mains and desserts. Highlights include:

  • East Side-style tartare, featuring premium Japanese Wagyu paired with fruit tomato salsa.
  • Classic New York-style burgers and seasonal seafood dishes as mains.
  • “Cheesecake 727”, inspired by the address of The Landmark — Tiffany’s flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York.

Desserts and dishes are artfully plated in Shoji’s signature style, showcasing her flair for both beauty and flavor. The drink menu, meanwhile, offers a unique take on New York cocktail culture, blending Japanese spirits and ingredients for a truly original beverage selection.
