Spanish luxury brand Loewe has opened its first standalone store in Austria. The new boutique is located on Kohlmarkt, one of Vienna’s most prestigious shopping streets, renowned for its concentration of international luxury houses. Spanning 347 square meters, the store is designed to immerse visitors in the brand’s world of craftsmanship, design, and art.
A Space Embodying Craftsmanship
The store offers a wide selection across categories, including womenswear, menswear, bags, accessories, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear, jewelry, as well as scarves and shawls—allowing visitors to experience the brand’s universe from multiple perspectives.
The interior reflects Loewe’s design philosophy through a careful interplay of textures and materials. Handmade ceramic tiles in shades of brown, green, white, and silver cover the walls, complemented by marble, brass, and concrete, which add depth to the space. These are softened by the use of linen and velvet textiles, creating an atmosphere that sits somewhere between gallery and boutique.

The spatial composition is elevated by iconic design pieces: organic-form chairs by George Nakashima, lighting sculptures “N33” and “Akari 1A” by Isamu Noguchi, and the “Utrecht Chair” by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld. Additional highlights include the Berin Club chair by Tyler Hays, antique Spanish ceramics, and wool rugs woven in Spain that feature reproductions of abstract landscapes by British textile artist John Allen.
Signature Loewe designs are also featured, such as a table made of recycled leather and a bench crafted in puffer leather, underscoring the house’s dedication to craftsmanship and sustainability.
Showcasing the Loewe Art Collection
The Vienna store also presents a curated selection from the brand’s art and design collection. On view are still-life paintings by Canadian artist Silas Borsos, including The Misunderstanding, Marmelade Muses, Green Orchestra, and Sundial, which explore the delicate boundary between abundance and decay.

Complementing these are works by British ceramicist Ian Godfrey, ten metal sculptures by South Korean artist Jaiik Lee, a finalist in the 2023 Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, and the painting Adoration (2024) by American artist Ian Felice.
With existing stores in Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland, and six in Germany—two in Munich, plus locations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, and Ingolstadt—the new Vienna flagship marks a strategic expansion of Loewe’s European retail network.
Far more than just a luxury boutique, the Vienna store is positioned as a cultural space where craftsmanship, design, and art seamlessly converge, embodying the house’s vision of modern luxury.
