Givenchy Unveils First Campaign Under Sarah Burton

French luxury house Givenchy has unveiled its first campaign under the direction of newly appointed creative director Sarah Burton. The campaign celebrates women across generations and body types, while also spotlighting the creative team behind the brand.

The imagery was photographed by Collier Schorr, with styling by Burton’s longtime collaborator Camilla Nickerson. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni, hairstylist Olivier Schawalder, nail artist Ama Quashie, and casting director Jess Hallett also joined the project. In a distinctive move, these creative collaborators appear alongside the models in the campaign itself.

Speaking about the project in a press release, Burton said: “The beauty of all women inspires me — including my team. I wanted to capture the brilliant women I work with amongst the cast — real moments with everyone working together.”

The campaign’s creative direction was overseen by Ferdinando Verderi. Rather than portraying luxury as distant or untouchable, the visuals convey the atmosphere of a working studio—ideas being shared, laughter exchanged, and creations built collectively. Burton’s belief that “fashion is community” resonates strongly throughout.

The campaign stars Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Nyaduola Gabriel, Kaia Gerber, Eva Herzigova, Emeline Hoareau, and Liu Wen, who embody a refreshed vision of Givenchy’s archival codes. Wearing looks that reinterpret the house’s heritage with a forward-looking lens, the cast is shown in candid gestures, relaxed smiles, and natural movements.

The collection highlights include sharply tailored suits, layered leather outerwear, translucent evening dresses, and the much-discussed “makeup compact dress,” a piece that has quickly become emblematic of Burton’s vision. Blending femininity with surrealism, the campaign illustrates her distinctive design language.

In March 2025, Burton presented her debut Givenchy collection at Paris Fashion Week. Returning to the origins of Hubert de Givenchy’s first collection from 1952, she revived the elegance of constructed silhouettes, precise cuts, and atelier craftsmanship. Modern touches—feminine detailing and designs celebrating the diversity of women—added a new spirit to the house, signaling the possibilities of its future under her leadership.
