Jaeger-LeCoultre Presents The Dream Shaper Exhibition in Shanghai

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre will host The Dream Shaper, an immersive exhibition celebrating the evolution of feminine watchmaking. The showcase will take place from September 10 to 26, 2025, at Zhangyuan W7, one of Shanghai’s historic architectural landmarks.

Four Chapters of Femininity Across 200 Years

As culture and fashion have continually evolved, so too has the definition of femininity. Jaeger-LeCoultre interprets this dynamic journey through four distinct chapters: Tradition, Freedom, Emancipation, and Leadership.

  • The Age of Tradition: In the 19th century, jeweled timepieces such as pendants and brooches symbolized refinement and social standing.
  • The Age of Freedom: The introduction of the Calibre 101, the world’s smallest mechanical movement, brought a new elegance to the wrist.
  • The Age of Emancipation: Shaped watches, epitomized by the Reverso, emerged as bold icons of self-expression and confidence.
  • The Age of Leadership: Complications once reserved for men were reimagined for women, culminating in today’s celestial creations such as the Rendez-Vous Shooting Star.

A Dialogue Between Heritage and Innovation

The exhibition will feature more than 70 archival masterpieces alongside the world premiere of new limited editions. From high jewelry watches adorned with exceptional gem-setting, to miniature enamel dials and sophisticated complications, these pieces embody the artistry of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares™. In addition, the Maison’s Made of Makers™ program will present a contemporary art installation that bridges horology with modern creativity, offering visitors a unique dialogue between tradition and innovation.

A Multisensory Experience

Guests will also be invited to the Crystal Bar, a new culinary concept inspired by geometric elegance and watchmaking design. The artisanal menu combines florals, fresh fruits, and bold colors into refined, playful creations that heighten the immersive experience.

Meanwhile, the Atelier d’Antoine will debut a Discovery Workshop. Through hands-on exercises such as glass painting, gem-setting, and watchmaking gestures guided by experts, participants will gain deeper insight into the role women have played in shaping the art and craft of timekeeping.

By weaving together history, artistry, and innovation, The Dream Shaper exhibition highlights how women’s perspectives and influence have shaped the evolution of watchmaking. It stands as a symbolic celebration of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s culture, craftsmanship, and enduring legacy in feminine horology.
