Giorgio Armani Launches “ARMANI/Archivio” at the Venice International Film Festival

Giorgio Armani Launches “ARMANI/Archivio” at the Venice International Film Festival

On August 30, Giorgio Armani officially unveiled a new digital platform, “ARMANI/Archivio,” during a special event at the Venice International Film Festival. Created to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, the initiative represents a culturally significant effort to share Armani’s creativity and evolution across generations.

The platform houses thousands of womenswear and menswear looks, with an initial selection of 57 looks now available online at archivio.armani.com. A physical location is also planned near Milan, further solidifying the archive as what Armani describes as a “dictionary of concepts” that tells the story of 50 years of creativity, consistency, and evolution.

The project also highlights iconic garments from past collections, reinterpreted through the lens of circularity. By creating a dialogue between past and present, Armani aims to preserve the stories of its heritage while connecting them with a new generation.

Global Showcase Across Major Cities

Following the Venice launch, curated looks from the archive will travel to seven cities worldwide. Starting in Milan, Paris, and London, the showcase will continue to Los Angeles on October 18 in conjunction with the Academy Museum Gala, followed by New York. Later, the presentation will also be staged in Beijing and Tokyo.

From September 16 to 29, Milan’s La Rinascente department store—where Giorgio Armani first stepped into the fashion world—will feature special archive-themed window displays.

Culmination at Milan Fashion Week

The celebrations will culminate on September 24 during Milan Fashion Week. At the Pinacoteca di Brera, 150 Armani looks will be displayed alongside works of art, marking the museum’s first-ever fashion exhibition. Later that evening, the museum’s courtyard will host the presentation of the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collection, which will also include selected looks from the most recent menswear collection unveiled in June.

In conjunction with the launch, Armani also announced its support for UNICEF. Donations will go to the Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund, which provides rapid and effective responses to crises such as conflict, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks, with a particular focus on protecting children’s rights.
