On October 2, American fashion house Ralph Lauren announced plans to open a new restaurant, The Polo Bar Ralph Lauren, in London’s Hanover Square in 2028.
The brand first introduced The Polo Bar in New York in 2015, offering classic American cuisine in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. It quickly became one of the city’s most coveted dining destinations—an embodiment of the Ralph Lauren lifestyle. Building on that international success, the London opening will present a new expression of the brand’s long-standing philosophy: the harmonious balance of sophistication and warmth.
Ralph Lauren, Founder, Executive Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of Ralph Lauren Corporation, shared: “I have always been inspired by the special charm and heritage of the British way of living. There is an effortless grace that is rooted in centuries of tradition—a blend of timeless sophistication, understated ease and natural elegance. That perfect balance of refinement and warmth, and the comfort of sitting around a table enjoying a meal with loved ones, are what my restaurants have always meant to me.”
The upcoming opening also reflects the brand’s enduring relationship with the United Kingdom. Ralph Lauren established its first international flagship store on London’s New Bond Street in 1981, laying the foundation for more than four decades of presence in the country. Today, the brand operates 12 stores across London and two Ralph’s Coffee locations—on New Bond Street and in Brompton Cross.
Ralph Lauren’s deep respect for British culture extends beyond fashion. The brand became the official outfitter of The Championships, Wimbledon in 2006, celebrating the elegance and heritage of one of tennis’s most prestigious tournaments. In 2016, it founded the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden Hospital, strengthening its commitment to cancer research and patient care. In recognition of his long-standing philanthropy and global influence on style, Ralph Lauren was appointed Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) in 2019—the first American fashion designer to receive the honor.
Today, Ralph Lauren’s hospitality portfolio includes five restaurants located in New York, Paris, Milan, Chicago, and Chengdu, along with over 40 Ralph’s Coffee locations worldwide. Each space offers an authentic glimpse into the Ralph Lauren universe—where fashion and lifestyle meet through the art of dining.
