Louis Vuitton to Present Its Cruise 2027 Collection in New York

Louis Vuitton is set to unveil its Cruise 2027 collection, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, in New York City on May 20, 2026. The news was reported exclusively by WWD, and details regarding the venue and staging remain undisclosed at this time.

Ghesquière’s Architectural Vision Connecting Space and Fashion

Since assuming the role of Women’s Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton in 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière has consistently treated “architecture” as a core element of his Cruise presentations. For Ghesquière, the show venue is more than a backdrop—it acts as a narrative device that shapes the storytelling of the collection.

One of the most emblematic examples is the 2019 show staged at the TWA Flight Center at New York’s JFK Airport. Designed by Eero Saarinen and opened in 1962, the building’s sweeping curves and futuristic forms created a powerful and symbolic stage that echoed Ghesquière’s fascination with moments of historical transition.

In contrast, the Cruise 2026 show introduced an entirely different architectural mood. Held in Avignon, Southern France, the presentation took place at the Palais des Papes, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its monumental Gothic architecture and historical significance. Staged in the palace’s Cour d’Honneur, the show unfolded in a dramatic interplay of stone, shadow, and nighttime light—allowing the garments and space to resonate with one another in a theatrical setting.

Chanel Also Heads to New York for Its Métiers d’Art Show

On December 2 this year, Chanel will also present its Métiers d’Art collection in New York City, marking Matthieu Blazy’s first such collection for the house. It will be Chanel’s first Métiers d’Art show in New York since 2018, and a significant milestone for Blazy as the maison’s new Creative Director.
