On May 10, the leading British fashion house Burberry announced the appointment of Korean actor Son Suk-ku as its brand ambassador.

Song Suk-kook is an actor who has been remarkably active in television and film in recent years and has been selected for numerous leading roles in various genres.

In 2021, he appeared in the popular Netflix series “D.P.” In 2022, he received critical acclaim for his role as Mr Gu in the drama “My Liberation Notes” and won the Best New Actor award for “The Roundup” at the Korean Association of Film Critic Awards. This achievement propelled him to acting stardom, and in 2023 he appeared on stage in “Army on a Tree.”

Casting Korean celebrities as ambassadors is now a big deal for brands. K-pop idols and Korean actors are an integral part of the front row at Fashion Week, and the presence of these world-renowned celebrities contributes greatly to raising brand awareness and attracting more attention.

In 2022, Burberry appointed actress Jun Ji-hyun as its first Korean female ambassador. Late last year, the brand also welcomed Chinese actress and singer Tang Wei as an ambassador.
