On April 13, the French luxury house Chanel announced the appointment of actor Pedro Pascal as its new house ambassador.
Pascal, widely recognized for his roles in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, has become one of Hollywood’s most prominent actors. His career—defined by versatility across genres and a distinctive screen presence—has also begun to resonate within the fashion sphere.
The partnership had been quietly building over time. In October 2025, Pascal appeared front row at Chanel’s show held at the Grand Palais in Paris. He later attended the 98th Academy Awards wearing Chanel, signaling a natural alignment between the actor and the brand.
Matthieu Blazy commented on the appointment: “Pedro is a wonderful man and an incredible actor. His kindness, talent, and his vision of the world are both inviting and inspiring. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Chanel family and I’m happy to embark on this adventure together.”
Pascal also expressed strong admiration for Blazy’s creative direction: “I love Matthieu’s vision, which I find powerful, elegant, and incredibly warm: it shows me how we could exist together, there’s something for everyone in his universe. I am happy and honoured to join it, and I am eager to see what Matthieu has planned for the future of Chanel.”
In recent years, Chanel has been actively expanding its roster of male ambassadors. Alongside cultural figures such as Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet, the brand has also appointed globally influential talents like Jung Kook—highlighting a broader strategy that bridges fashion with contemporary culture.
