On October 21, French luxury brand Courrèges announced that Marie Leblanc will take on the role of chief executive officer (CEO) effective November 4, 2024. Leblanc will succeed Adrien Da Maia, working alongside creative director Nicolas Di Felice to lead the brand into its next phase of growth.
Leblanc previously served as CEO of Victoria Beckham, where she transformed the company into a highly profitable lifestyle brand. Under her leadership, the brand went from operating at a loss to profitability, with annual revenues more than doubling. By 2023, total revenue reached £89.1 million, marking three consecutive years of growth. Leblanc’s key achievements included a successful repositioning of the brand and the transition from London to Paris Fashion Week. Prior to her time at Victoria Beckham, Leblanc held roles at Isabel Marant and Celine in design and collection development, and she also worked at Sonia Rykiel.
Upon her appointment, Leblanc expressed her enthusiasm: “I am deeply honored to join Courrèges. The house carries a rich heritage combined with a modern and innovative spirit. I am looking forward to meeting the teams and working with them to unlock Courrèges’ vast potential.”
François-Henri Pinault, chairman and CEO of Artémis, also praised Leblanc’s leadership skills, stating, “Marie’s unique talent lies in her ability to fully immerse herself in the creative process, ensuring it remains constantly aligned with the brand’s identity, while crafting an operational strategy that supports and enhances this creative vision.” Pinault also thanked Da Maia for his contributions and revealed that he plans to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
Before this announcement, Da Maia had led Courrèges through a successful turnaround. Last year, the brand doubled its sales and expanded its retail network. With Leblanc now at the helm, Courrèges is poised for further growth and success under her leadership.
