On January 23, Dior announced the appointment of Canadian actress and director Taylor Russell as the brand ambassador for its new collections under Jonathan Anderson. The announcement comes as Anderson prepares to unveil his first haute couture collection for the house, positioning Russell’s selection as a symbolic move that signals Dior’s next creative direction.
Russell rose to international prominence through her performance in Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All, in which she starred opposite Timothée Chalamet. Her role earned her the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actress at the 2022 Venice Film Festival, firmly establishing her as one of the most distinctive talents of a new generation in contemporary cinema.
Her appointment is also seen as an extension of the creative relationships Anderson has cultivated since his tenure at Loewe. Several actors who previously served as faces of Loewe—including Greta Lee, Josh O’Connor, and Drew Starkey—have continued to align with Anderson following his move to Dior, reflecting an evolving network built on shared creative sensibilities.
At the core of this network is Anderson’s ongoing collaboration with director Luca Guadagnino. Anderson designed the costumes for Challengers and Queer, forging close ties with the actors appearing in Guadagnino’s films and creating a strong creative ecosystem that bridges fashion and cinema.

In its official press release, Dior describes Russell as “a rare woman who embodies Dior’s instinctive elegance, boldness, and modernity.” Her quiet strength and contemporary presence naturally align with the vision of a new Dior being shaped under Jonathan Anderson.
