Gucci has unveiled its Pre-Fall 2026 collection, titled Generation Gucci, presented as a lookbook depicting a fictional fashion show photographed by Artistic Director Demna.

The collection reinterprets archival references and visual codes from various eras of Gucci’s history through Demna’s perspective, weaving them into a single, cohesive narrative. The lookbook can also be seen as a preview of the new vision for Gucci that Demna is set to reveal at the fashion show scheduled for February.

A First Look That Brings the Archive Into the Present

The first look introduces a lightweight tailored silhouette crafted from silk faille, designed to evoke the worn-in texture found in Gucci’s archives. A women’s jacket fastened with minimalist clasps instead of buttons is styled as part of a refined two-piece suit, paired with leggings-like fitted trousers or a pencil skirt that highlights the house’s signature elegance.

Minimalist jeans feature a distinctive design in which pockets and closures are seamlessly concealed within the construction. Meanwhile, an elegant silk travel suit offers pajama-like comfort, while the lines of technical mock-neck tops and body-conscious leather jackets draw inspiration from surfers’ wetsuits.

Outerwear and Party Looks Where Lightness Meets Sensuality

Richly textured coats combine finely cut shearling with silk, goat hair, and feathers, creating intricate patterns layered over sheer bases and linings.

For eveningwear, the wardrobe includes silk blousons paired with underwear-inspired pieces, draped mini skirts matched with tops in the same fabric, and minimalist dresses crafted from fluid jersey and silk chiffon. The silhouettes are understated yet imbued with a quiet sensuality that accentuates the body’s natural lines.

Reinterpreting Gucci of the 1970s and 1990s

The collection also revisits iconic Gucci styles from the 1970s and 1990s, reimagined through a contemporary lens. Highlights include racer jackets adorned with the house’s signature web stripes, belts featuring a subtle reinterpretation of the Double G hardware, and looks styled entirely in leather or suede.

Additionally, silk set-ups crafted from equestrian prints—evoking archival silk scarves—underscore how Gucci’s heritage is being translated into a modern visual language.

Evolved Icons in Footwear and Bags

In footwear, ballet flats inspired by luggage designs return in men’s sizes, while sleek loafers are finished with the lightweight flexibility of dance shoes. Pumps featuring cushioned insoles are fitted with innovative, seamless stiletto heels. Classic loafers are embellished with metal spikes, giving them the character of vintage pieces customized by their new owners.

In bags, the Lunetta Phone+ shoulder bag, crafted in GG canvas and chain, is designed to hold everyday essentials neatly. The Gucci Jackie 1961 appears in compact, linear shapes as well as larger, softer versions crafted from calfskin and crocodile leather. The Dionysus bag is reworked with sharper, more angular silhouettes, lending it a more edgy presence.
