For years, fashion e-commerce has been defined by a persistent structural challenge: uncertainty around size and fit. Through a screen, it remains difficult to accurately assess how a fabric falls, how a silhouette forms, and how a garment will interact with one’s own body. As a result, high return rates and lost purchasing opportunities have become normalized across the industry.
Addressing this issue is the AI company CATCHES. On March 16, the company unveiled its physics-based AI technology, “RealFit.” Rather than relying solely on visual approximation, the technology enables a new level of “fit visualization” by reflecting the real physical properties of garments, including fabric behavior and construction. Built on NVIDIA’s CUDA platform, it delivers a highly accurate online shopping experience, reproducing sizing, fit, and drape with precision.
CATCHES also announced that it has raised $10 million from investors, including Antoine Arnault and Natalia Vodianova Arnault.
A Millimeter-Accurate Virtual Fitting Experience
RealFit allows users to generate a digital twin by inputting their body measurements and a photograph, enabling them to visualize how garments will look on their own body. What distinguishes the technology is its ability to go beyond surface-level rendering, incorporating physical characteristics such as fabric weight, structure, drape, and movement.
This allows consumers to compare different sizes and determine the most suitable fit before making a purchase, offering a meaningful solution to the long-standing issue of size uncertainty in online shopping.
The technology has already been launched on the official website of AMIRI, with additional brands expected to adopt it throughout 2026.
Addressing the Core Challenges of Fashion E-commerce
Ed Voyce, Founder and CEO of CATCHES, commented: “One of the biggest problems in fashion e-commerce is customers not knowing whether a garment will fit them. This fit uncertainty lowers online conversions and causes return rates of over 50% in some categories.”
“CATCHES RealFit technology fixes this by providing customers a personalized photorealistic experience that understands real materials, cuts, and true sizing & fit. With the support of NVIDIA, we are providing brands a fully customized offering and a customer experience for the AI era.”
Innovation Through the Fusion of AI and Physics
Over the past two years, CATCHES has developed a proprietary GPU-accelerated simulation framework. By combining physically accurate fabric models with AI, the system is able to reproduce the weight, structure, drape, and movement of garments at a true 1:1 level.
The system is built on NVIDIA’s Omniverse, CUDA, and Newton Physics Engine, and integrates custom-trained diffusion models alongside VLMs and LLMs.
Azita Martin, VP and GM of AI for Retail and CPG at NVIDIA, stated: “Accelerated computing is unlocking new possibilities for digital fashion experiences. CATCHES has introduced an AI-based virtual try-on with physics-based simulation for fabric movements and sizing, built on NVIDIA Omniverse and accelerated computing platform. AMIRI is pioneering this innovation and we’re collaborating with CATCHES as an Independent Software Vendor to bring these capabilities to more fashion brands.”
A New Era of Luxury Customer Experience
Mike Amiri, Founder and Creative Director of AMIRI, commented: “AMIRI is about community, craft, and innovation. For me, CATCHES RealFit embodies all of these values, bringing them into a modern digital context. The idea of digital craft—tailoring each client’s experience to feel personal and unique—and the ability to connect with them whether in-store or through our digital flagship strengthens the AMIRI universe. This partnership represents the next step in how we engage with our clients around the world.”
Antoine Arnault, Director of Image & Environment at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, added: “In fashion, the relationship between a garment and the person wearing it is essential. Any technology that helps bring that understanding into the online environment is an important step forward.”
Natalia Vodianova also reflected on the evolution of AI: “AI has largely lived in the digital world, trying to imitate reality without truly understanding it. CATCHES changes that by anchoring AI to the laws of physics, so it doesn’t guess how a garment drapes or fits, it knows. That bridge between the physical and digital world is a profound shift, and fashion is only the beginning.”
Toward a New Foundation for Fashion E-commerce
RealFit offers consumers the confidence of a fitting room from anywhere in the world, while enabling brands to improve conversion rates and significantly reduce returns. More than a technological advancement, it represents a fundamental rethinking of the online shopping experience—one that may redefine the relationship between the digital and physical worlds in fashion.
