Jean Paul Gaultier Names Nicolas Di Felice as Next Guest Couturier

On March 18, Jean Paul Gaultier announced the appointment of Nicolas Di Felice, Creative Director of Courrèges, as guest couturier for its June 2024 haute couture show.

Since Jean Paul Gaultier retired as a fashion designer with his haute couture collection in January 2020, the brand has invited prominent designers to continue haute couture as guests since July 2021.

For the Haute Couture 2024 Spring/Summer collection this January, the brand selected Irish-born designer SIMONE ROCHA. Also, the brand previously welcomed Chitose Abe from Sacai, Glenn Martens, Olivier Rousteing, and Haider Ackermann, and each designer has created a new Jean-Paul Gaultier universe by reflecting their vision on the brand’s historical codes.

Jean Paul Gaultier posted on the brand’s official Instagram this morning, “We are excited to announce that Nicolas Di Felice will be the next guest designer for the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show which will be presented in June 2024 @nicolas.difelice.”

In a statement released to WWD, Gaultier said, “I find Nicolas to be bold and creative from the beginning of his career. Choosing him aligns perfectly with the idea of seeing what a designer can bring to my style.”

On the other hand, Felice expressed his delight at the collaboration, said, “I am grateful to get the chance to work with this legendary couture atelier and I cannot wait to dig into the archives.”

“I’m from a little village in Belgium where you couldn’t find Vogue or real fashion magazines. Jean Paul was the only figure that was famous in my hometown. He was on the television; everybody would use his perfumes. He completely changed fashion and offered it to a wider audience,” he added.
