On March 10, Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples simultaneously released the first drop of their highly anticipated eyewear collaboration worldwide.
A Shared Pursuit of Timelessness
At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared commitment to the timeless — a sensibility both brands have long embodied. The “energy of contrasts” that has defined Jil Sander for decades manifests in this collection as a balance between the angular and the organic, the industrial and the natural. Titanium and acetate are employed as the primary materials, resulting in a finish that is at once refined and tactile. Branding is discreetly integrated into functional elements such as temples and nose pads, present but never overbearing.
All sunglasses are handmade in Japan, with lenses crafted from Italian glass and marked with a breath logo.
A Launch Campaign Shot in Hamburg
The launch campaign visuals were created by Swiss artist Walter Pfeiffer, known for the energetic directness of his photographic gaze. His chosen backdrop: Hamburg, Germany — the city where the Jil Sander story began.
The contrast between the blunt clarity of the visual intent and the carefree spirit of the portraits captures the essence of the project. The tension between Oliver Peoples’ Californian roots and Jil Sander’s European heritage and modernist aesthetic is felt throughout every frame of the campaign.
Six Editions Across Two Categories
The collection is structured around two material categories — titanium and acetate — comprising six editions in total.
The titanium frames are defined by an angular rim that is thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom, with a pinched flat surface bearing the engraved logos. A rounded, drop-shaped temple tip adds a distinctive and comfortable design detail. Edition 1 features a double-bridge triangular frame; Edition 2, a single high-bridge with squared lenses; Edition 5, a bold double-bridge frame with horizontal drop-shaped lenses.

The acetate frames are sculptural and voluminous, featuring ergonomic temples, custom hinges, and hand-inlaid logo plaques. Edition 3 is an assertive cat-eye model with high temples; Edition 4 draws a sharp, ultra-horizontal line across the face; Edition 6 is a contemporary take on a bold acetate sunglass — no visible screws, no excess detailing — for the cleanest possible effect.

The color range pairs classic staples — Black, Brown, and Tortoise — with three custom tones developed exclusively for the collection: Dark Green, Soft Pink, and Butterscotch. Across styles, the interplay between lens and frame invites either a bold ton-sur-ton statement or a subtle contrast.
The packaging, too, reflects the collection’s visual language. Its folded structure recalls the gestural purity of a signature Jil Sander bag, making the unboxing experience an extension of the brand’s aesthetic.
Availability
The entire collection is offered in unisex sizing. As of March 10, 2026, it is available exclusively at selected Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples stores worldwide, as well as on jilsander.com and oliverpeoples.com.
This first drop marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between the two brands.
