On March 9, the French luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton announced the appointment of Philippe Farnier as deputy CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH Beauty Division, effective immediately.

Farnier will report directly to Véronique Courtois, chairman and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH Beauty Division, and will play a key role in advancing the division’s strategic initiatives.

According to LVMH, in his new role Farnier will work closely with Courtois to drive major strategic initiatives across the beauty division while overseeing its commercial and omni-channel activities. He is also expected to lead the division’s transformation in collaboration with the group’s Maisons, strengthening synergies and competitiveness in an increasingly fast-evolving beauty market.

LVMH’s beauty division includes prestige brands such as Dior, Fresh, Benefit Cosmetics, and Make Up For Ever. It also houses Louis Vuitton’s newly launched beauty line, underscoring the growing strategic importance of the category for the group.

Commenting on the appointment, Courtois said: “I am absolutely delighted of Philippe’s appointment as deputy CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and LVMH Beauty Division. Philippe’s exceptional leadership, international strategic acumen, and deep industry knowledge make him the perfect partner to take over this strategic role. I am confident that together we will further strengthen our organisation and accelerate our sustainable growth strategy, building on incredible talents within our maisons.”

Stéphane Bianchi, managing director of the LVMH Group, also commented: “I am very pleased with the appointment of Philippe as deputy CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and LVMH Beauty Division. Together with Véronique, I am certain he will bring his expertise of driving significant transformations and his deep understanding of global luxury dynamics to redefine excellence and creativity in the beauty sector.”

Farnier brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the global luxury industry. He began his career in 1990 in management roles at Mondelez and Heineken. In 2003, he joined Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, where he served as general manager for France.

He later joined LVMH in 2008 as general manager of Parfums Christian Dior France, and in 2013 was promoted to general manager of travel retail EMEA and global marketing. In 2015, he became president and CEO Americas at Rémy Cointreau, and by 2018 was appointed CEO of Rémy Martin as well as head of CSR.

After returning to LVMH in April 2022, Farnier has served as a member of the COMEX (executive committee) at Parfums Christian Dior, overseeing the brand’s global commercial activities. With his new appointment, he is set to play a central role in driving the next phase of growth and organisational transformation for the LVMH Beauty Division.
