Schiaparelli Marks Asian Expansion With Permanent Hong Kong Salon

French haute couture maison Schiaparelli has opened its first permanent salon in Asia at Landmark Prince’s Building, a premier luxury complex in Hong Kong’s Central district.

Operated on an appointment-only basis, the new salon forms part of Landmark’s ongoing renovation project, valued at approximately $400 million. While Schiaparelli previously staged a pop-up in Shanghai in 2024, the Hong Kong opening marks the maison’s first permanent foothold in the region.

A Surrealist Space Inspired by the Paris Salon

Rather than functioning as a conventional retail boutique, the Hong Kong salon is conceived as an immersive environment designed to draw visitors into Schiaparelli’s aesthetic universe and creative values.

The space was created by Creative Director Daniel Roseberry in collaboration with architecture studio Halleroed. Spanning approximately 1,700 square feet, the interior takes inspiration from the maison’s historic headquarters at 21 Place Vendôme in Paris, while incorporating a contemporary sensibility suited to Hong Kong.

The VIP dressing room is styled to resemble a private living room, while jewelry is displayed in a bathroom clad in gold mosaic tiles. A solid gold toilet serves as one of the space’s most striking features, translating Schiaparelli’s surrealist heritage into a fully realized spatial experience.

Hong Kong as a Strategic Cultural Destination

Delphine Bellini, Chief Executive Officer of Schiaparelli, highlighted the significance of Hong Kong as a luxury capital, stating, “Hong Kong has long held a very particular place in the world of luxury. It is a city where cultural sophistication, international outlook, and an understanding of exceptional craftsmanship coexist in a natural way.”

She also commented on the choice of location, adding, “Landmark offers an environment that respects heritage, demands the highest level of quality and understands the importance of long-term perspective. These values are deeply aligned with our maison.”

A Carefully Calibrated Global Expansion

Since its relaunch in 2012 by Italian entrepreneur Diego Della Valle, Schiaparelli has pursued a highly selective approach to retail expansion. Beyond its Paris salon, the maison maintains permanent locations only in a limited number of cities, including London, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Dubai, and Monaco.

Landmark, where the new salon is located, has recently welcomed a series of high-profile luxury openings, including Patek Philippe, Saint Laurent, Prada, and Miu Miu. Schiaparelli’s arrival can be seen as part of the complex’s ongoing repositioning toward the highest tier of global luxury.

With its Hong Kong salon, Schiaparelli underscores a growth strategy rooted not in scale, but in cultural relevance, intimacy, and craftsmanship—reinforcing the maison’s commitment to establishing a presence only in cities with a deep appreciation for heritage, creativity, and couture.
