On February 13, Sergio Hudson unveiled his Fall/Winter 2026 collection during New York Fashion Week.
The show took place at the iconic New York Public Library, a grand and historic setting befitting the brand’s 10th anniversary. This season’s defining keyword was “drama.” Not drama as mere embellishment, but the drama of a decade in the making—the kind embodied in the monumental emotional power of legendary Black opera singer Leontyne Price and the operatic performances of Aretha Franklin. It was a drama rooted in presence itself.
The collection was constructed around the house’s core strength: precise tailoring. The opening look featured an ivory skirt suit with sculptural shoulders and a sharply defined waist. A bold floral corsage adorned the shoulder, while a mermaid silhouette traced elegant curves—an embodiment of what could only be described as “operatic femininity.”
This was followed by minimalist black skirt suits and striped double-breasted suiting. Deep lapels, expertly contoured waists, and elongated pencil skirts and flared trousers emphasized the architectural beauty of the female form. Three-dimensional floral motifs and glove styling added subtle theatricality to otherwise classic ensembles, creating an opening sequence marked by quiet tension and refined elegance.

At the same time, Hudson’s American sportswear identity remained firmly intact. A cream-toned double-breasted jacket paired with wide-leg trousers and layered under a mohair-textured long coat highlighted contrasts in texture. Cashmere, suede, and embossed leather added depth to traditional suiting, conveying a sense of understated luxury.
Styling featuring snakeskin-embossed detailing at the waist and glossy brown leather suits revealed a more sensual and commanding dimension. Sharply cinched waists and bold shoulders defined Hudson’s vision of an authoritative woman—one that does not seek approval but commands attention through presence alone.

For evening, a series of magnificent looks evoked the opening act of an opera. A sleek black strapless column gown, dramatically layered with white tulle, a deep purple velvet gown, and a mermaid silhouette styled with a striking orange coat brought together sculptural forms and dramatic color.
Cobalt blue sequined dresses and a teal bustier adorned with jewel embroidery, paired with a magenta draped skirt that shimmered with movement and light, heightening the sense of theatrical emotion. The interplay between transparency and weight, ornamentation and structure, portrays women who stand boldly on stage, unafraid of emotion.

“We were going for the drama, the glamour, the emotion, the spectacle. I wanted to honor every era of the brand while still designing what feels necessary for the woman today,” said Hudson. Indeed, this collection was not a recreation of the past, but a testament to evolution—both a reflection on ten years of growth and a confident declaration of ambition for the future.
