On February 6, Skims, the shapewear and apparel brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian, opened a new flagship store in Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast neighborhood. The store is located at 1000 North Rush Street and occupies a two-level, 6,500-square-foot space within a former bank building dating back to the 1960s.
The interior design was led by Rafael de Cárdenas Ltd., bringing together the building’s original curved architectural elements with Skims’ minimalist design language and its signature nude-toned aesthetic.
On the glass-fronted façade, a large-scale sculpture of a reclining female figure by artist Vanessa Beecroft has been installed. Positioned to face the street, the work serves as a symbolic focal point of the store, drawing the attention of passersby with its striking presence.

Inside, the main floor features a grid-based display system that presents merchandise in a clean, structured layout. A curved staircase leads to the lower level, where Skims’ signature bra wall and freestanding fixtures are arranged beneath a softly illuminated ceiling, creating an immersive and cohesive retail experience.
A Full Product Assortment Across Women’s and Men’s Categories
The Chicago flagship offers an extensive range of Skims products across women’s and men’s categories, including loungewear, underwear, and shapewear. In addition to the brand’s core collections, the store features new seasonal items, Gold Coast–exclusive merchandise, and styles designed specifically for the Chicago location.
Throughout the year, the store will also host exclusive product drops, including items from the brand’s collaboration line NikeSKIMS.
A Strategic Step in Skims’ Physical Retail Expansion
The Chicago opening follows Skims’ flagship locations in Los Angeles and New York, as well as international stores in Mexico and Dubai. In recent years, the brand has made its intention clear to strengthen its physical retail presence, positioning brick-and-mortar stores as a central pillar of its long-term growth strategy.
Commenting on the opening, Kim Kardashian, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, said in an official statement: “Chicago boasts such incredible style and a vibrant community, and opening our first flagship here feels incredibly meaningful. We’re thrilled to introduce Skims to the city, inviting the community into a space that pays homage to Chicago’s storied architectural heritage while highlighting our signature design language, immersive experiences and the complete assortment in person.”
Founded in 2019, Skims now operates a global retail network of 15 directly owned stores.
