Dior has recently welcomed F1 star racer Lewis Hamilton as its new ambassador and announced a new lifestyle capsule collection co-created with him as a guest designer.
This collection, crafted by Hamilton and Dior Homme’s Artistic Director Kim Jones, combines couture and practicality in winter sportswear.
This collection for winter features many items perfect for the slopes, including snowboards, ski wear, fleece, and sweatshirts adorned with the Dior logo.
Casual suits made from Dior’s traditional tweed add an elegant touch when paired with sportswear styles. Additionally, the collection includes eye-catching items such as the sporty yet retro B44 Blade Bag, the intricately crafted multi-layered microfiber snow sneakers, and the Dior Snow Derby, all of which seamlessly blend functionality with design.
Furthermore, one of the features of this collection is that it uses 80% sustainable materials. It includes various fabric pants ranging from denim to tweed, tops such as knits, sweatshirts, and fleeces that partially use organic or recycled textiles, and technical wear from the Japanese ski wear manufacturer Descente.
Additionally, the collection offers quarter zip sweaters adorned with traditional African textiles handcrafted by weavers in Burkina Faso. This piece was included in the collection due to Jones and Hamilton’s desire to spotlight the unique artisans and craftsmanship of Africa.
Hamilton’s influence is no longer confined to the world of motorsports. With his impeccable style and bold fashion choices, Hamilton has solidified his position as a top-tier style icon. As a result, this special partnership with Dior has come to fruition, with the brand praising Hamilton as “embodies the boldness and singularity of Dior allure.”
The collection will be available starting October 17, 2024, in Dior boutiques and on the online store dior.com.
