On August 16th, Louis Vuitton announced that it had appointed English footballer Jude Bellingham as its new brand ambassador, further strengthening its ties with the world of sports.
Bellingham will embark on a new collaboration with the menswear division led by Pharrell Williams. In this role, he will appear in Louis Vuitton’s promotional images, wear the brand’s designs at public events, and attend various company functions.
Bellingham, the top scorer for Real Madrid and named this year’s La Liga Player of the Season, attended Pharrell’s debut show for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection last summer. Regarding Bellingham’s appointment, the brand stated, “His keen sense of fashion resonates with Williams’ vision of dandyism and personal expression in menswear.”
Bellingham expressed his excitement about the new role, stating, “It is such a pleasure to join the Louis Vuitton family,” “Since I was young, I have always been attracted to the House. I am so happy to continue building a relationship with Pharrell whose work I truly admire.”
Pharrell also commented, saying, “I’m excited to welcome Jude to the House, his charismatic personality and what he has already achieved on his inspiring journey will add so much to our LVers community.”
Alongside the announcement, Louis Vuitton released Bellingham’s first campaign, photographed by Gabriel Moses. In the campaign, Bellingham is seen wearing a double-breasted suit and a monogrammed coat, paired with the brand’s fashion accessories, while striking his signature open-arms goal celebration pose.
