Gigi Hadid, the model and creative director of the cashmere brand Guest in Residence, has opened the brand’s first flagship store on the West Coast. Located on North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, the store follows the success of the brand’s New York flagship on Bond Street, offering a space that blends warmth and sophistication in its design.
A Warm, Home-like Atmosphere
The approximately 1,000-square-foot store was co-designed by Hadid and Yaoska Interiors, creating a space that feels like stepping into the home of a creative friend. Visitors are welcomed into an inviting atmosphere featuring plaid armchairs flanking a fireplace, weathered books neatly arranged on bookshelves, and a velvet sofa adorned with a painting by Austyn Weiner, an artist and personal friend of Hadid. These elements connect seamlessly with Hadid’s personal interior style, offering visitors a relaxed and inspiring experience.
Speaking about the new store, Hadid said, “Our vision was a space that’s warm and inviting, where our heirloom pieces are effortlessly integrated into the flow and décor. I love how the store captures the feeling of barefoot California luxury, that’s relaxed yet sophisticated at the same time — just like our cashmere.”
Yaoska Interiors added, “While designing Guest In Residence’s first store in L.A., our vision was to make the space feel as if it’s always been here. We aspired to create an experience like you’re stepping into the home of a creative friend; it’s a deeply personal space, where you might stumble upon a painting studio in the solarium or a rustic wood-working shop in the garden. Shoppers are welcome to fully immerse themselves in this inspiring, unexpected and eclectic brand world.”
Strong Performance and Future Plans
The brand has reported remarkable success, with a 100% increase in sales compared to the previous year. Direct sales through its stores and online platforms now account for half of its total revenue. The Los Angeles store currently showcases the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, featuring seasonal styles that have already drawn attention. Looking ahead, the store plans to introduce regionally inspired exclusive items, further enhancing the unique shopping experience.
Guest in Residence also has ambitious plans for the future. A highly anticipated kids’ collection is set to launch in 2026, marking a strategic move to expand its customer base to the next generation. Additionally, the brand is eyeing expansion to Aspen, with a pop-up store scheduled to open in early 2025. International expansion remains a priority, as Guest in Residence continues to broaden its reach under Hadid’s visionary leadership.
