The shapewear brand SKIMS, led by actress and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, has partnered for the first time with the legendary outdoor brand The North Face to unveil a groundbreaking winter wear collection designed to transition seamlessly from ski slopes to après-ski lounges.
“The North Face x SKIMS” collection, set to launch on December 10, will be available through both brands’ online stores and retail locations. This special collaboration fuses The North Face’s archival designs with SKIMS’ signature body-flattering silhouettes and sophisticated color palettes.
The collection features a lineup that combines SKIMS’ compressive base layers with The North Face’s high-performance outerwear. Key pieces include down jackets, waterproof shell pants, adaptive bodysuits, and DotKnit tops and bottoms. The collection also includes accessories such as beanies, gloves, and insulated mules. Prices range from $60 to $1,200, with sizes available from XXS to 3X, ensuring a broad range of options for consumers.
Accompanying the collection is a stunning campaign shot by Vanessa Beecroft, set against the snow-covered mountains of Chile. Additionally, a second campaign by Donna Trope will feature Kim Kardashian herself wearing standout pieces from the collection.
This collaboration marks SKIMS’ debut in the winter wear market. Speaking about the project, Kardashian shared, “The North Face is always inspired by innovative brands driving culture. Collaborating with Skims allowed us to push our design boundaries while maintaining the performance and functionality our customers expect. I’ve spent a lot of time on the slopes, so this collection was personally inspiring to develop.”
David Whetstone, The North Face’s Director of Collaborations and Energy, echoed this sentiment: “The North Face is always inspired by innovative brands driving culture. Collaborating with Skims allowed us to push our design boundaries while maintaining the performance and functionality our customers expect.”
This partnership between SKIMS and The North Face goes beyond simply blending their identities. It leverages each brand’s unique strengths to open doors to new markets and customer bases. For The North Face, it represents an opportunity to engage with SKIMS’ cultural influence, while for SKIMS, it’s a chance to establish credibility in the outdoor market.
