Prada Group Appoints Christopher Bugg as Its First-Ever Chief Communication Officer

Christopher Bugg

On August 6, Prada Group announced the promotion of Christopher Bugg to the newly established role of Chief Communication Officer. The appointment is effective immediately, and Bugg will play a key role in leading the group’s global communications strategy.

In this position, Bugg will oversee communications across all Prada Group brands, including Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s, and Car Shoe. He reports directly to Lorenzo Bertelli, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Prada Group.

In an official statement, the company noted, “Over the past several years, he has made a fundamental contribution to strengthening the positioning of the group and its brands.” Since joining the group in January 2020 as Marketing & Communications Director for the Asia region, Bugg was quickly promoted within a few months to Group Communication Director, establishing a strong presence at the corporate level.

Prior to joining Prada Group, Bugg built an international career with roles such as Global Digital Communication Director at Louis Vuitton in Paris and Global Vice President of Digital Marketing at Calvin Klein in New York.

This announcement comes at a pivotal time for Prada Group, which is currently undergoing organizational restructuring ahead of the completion of its acquisition of Versace, scheduled for the second half of 2025. The deal, valued at €1.25 billion, is expected to have a significant impact on the group’s brand equity and global market presence.

In April of this year, Versace appointed Dario Vitale, formerly Design & Image Director at Miu Miu, as its new Chief Creative Officer. Meanwhile, Donatella Versace, who had served as the brand’s Chief Creative Officer for decades, transitioned to the role of Brand Ambassador effective April 1, 2025.

Despite ongoing global economic uncertainty, Prada Group has continued to show stable growth. For the first half of 2025, the company reported €2.74 billion in net revenue, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period last year.
