Italian luxury house Fendi, rooted in the cultural heritage of Rome, will once again illuminate Tokyo’s Omotesando this holiday season. From December 1 to 28, 2025, the maison will serve as the exclusive sponsor of the annual illumination event organized by the Harajuku Omotesando Keyaki Association.
First launched in 1991, the Omotesando Illuminations have become a beloved winter tradition in Tokyo. This year’s edition, titled “Omotesando Fendi Illumination 2025,” will light up 154 zelkova trees stretching approximately one kilometer along the iconic avenue, enveloping the street in a warm champagne-gold glow created by nearly 900,000 LED lights.

Fendi has long been committed to preserving cultural heritage in its home city of Rome. One of its most notable initiatives is the Trevi Fountain restoration project, launched in 2013. By installing transparent scaffolding and allowing the public to witness the restoration process up close, the maison reinforced its role as a “cultural patron,” earning wide acclaim.
In recent years, Fendi has also supported the restoration of the Grotto of Diana within Villa d’Este, the historic estate in Tivoli, strengthening its ties to the artistic and architectural landscape of Rome. Against this backdrop, the maison’s involvement in the Omotesando illuminations can be seen as an extension of its longstanding mission to bridge cities, culture, and craftsmanship.
The warm glow inspired by Fendi’s signature Roman Yellow brings a touch of Rome’s timeless elegance to the heart of Tokyo, offering visitors a moment of enchantment during the festive season. As the lights intertwine with the brand’s world-view, the illuminations are set to create a memorable winter experience for all who stroll through Omotesando this year.
