Beyoncé’s hair care brand that she has been warming up to will finally be launched on February 20.
In May of last year, Beyoncé posted on her Instagram page hinting at the idea of a new hair care line, and she officially announced the launch of her hair care line, Cécred, this month. The name of the brand, Cécred, is a fusion of Beyoncé’s “Cé” and “sacred.”
Beyoncé says that her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, was a deep source of inspiration in the process of launching the brand. This is because Beyoncé’s first working job was as a floor sweeper at her mother’s hair salon, and this is where the story of her evolution as an artist began. The brand’s campaign video features Beyoncé’s mother and is interspersed with important family archives.

The brand will be available exclusively on its e-commerce platform from February 20. Details on Cécred’s products, pricing, and distribution network have not yet been unveiled. However, according to a trademark application filed in 2022, it seems to include hair care, vitamin supplements, electric hair styling tools, combs, candles, hair growth stimulants, and hair accessories.
In the past, Beyoncé has been involved in apparel brands, sportswear, and fragrances. Especially in fragrances, she has launched 15 different products so far, since her inaugural fragrance “HEAT” was launched in 2010.
In recent years, celebrities have made several forays into the beauty industry, including Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Lady Gaga’s Haus of Lab, and Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, and a JLL report released last summer showed that 53% of celebrity brands are in the beauty category.
While many beauty brands focus on makeup and skincare products, Beyoncé has chosen the field of hair care. With the imminent launch of Cécred, the public has high expectations that in the future the brand will develop into something that symbolizes Beyoncé’s new start as an entrepreneur, beyond being a singer and producer.
