Max Mara has announced that the Resort Show 2025 will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice.
Ian Griffiths, Creative Director of Max Mara, has always favored historic and iconic venues for her previous resort shows.
Last year, she presented its Resort Show 2024 in Stockholm’s City Hall, inspired by the region’s special place in Scandinavian culture and women’s empowerment. In addition, the Resort Show 2023 was held in the gardens of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. Griffiths explored erotic feminism in a collection inspired by Natália Correi, the famous Portuguese free-thinker, art tycoon, and star of Café Society.
The Palazzo Ducale in Piazza San Marco, chosen as the setting for the 2025 Resort show, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the most iconic landmarks of the city of Venice and its rich cultural heritage.
Founded in the 8th century, the Palazzo Ducale served as the Governor’s Palace and seat of government of the Republic of Venice until the 12th century. Adjacent to the Hall St. Mark’s Basilica, the building once served as a complex of residential, executive, legislative, judicial, and prison functions. The sumptuously decorated halls of the palace have a unique beauty, with overlapping Renaissance and Mannerist decorations. Part of the palace is now open to the public as a museum run by the Venice Civic Art Museum Foundation (MUVE).
Meanwhile, Dior will present its cruise show 2025 at Perthshire’s Drummond Castle Gardens in Scotland on June 3, and Jacquemus will hold a “La Casa” show and celebrate its 15th anniversary at Casa Malaparte in Capri on June 10.
