Off-white Returns to Paris Fashion Week

Off-white is returning to Paris Fashion Week.

The Paris Fashion Week 2024 Fall/Winter collection will be held for nine days starting February 26, and Off-white will have a runway show on February 29. The show titled “Black by Popular Demand” will be the third presentation by Ibrahim Kamara, who took over as the brand’s creative director in April 2022.

Off-White was once a high-end street fashion brand produced by Virgil Abloh that quickly became popular among fashion-conscious celebrities. Until then, it was rare for a street fashion brand to be associated with the luxury industry, but Off-White quickly established itself and has been highly acclaimed for its high design and creativity.

However, founder Abloh passed away in November 2021 due to the worsening of the cancer he was suffering from. Since then, the brand has witnessed a gradual decline in the enthusiasm of its fans in Abloh’s absence. Also, the trend in street fashion has settled down, many maisons have shifted to quiet luxury, and what consumers are looking for has changed drastically.

These factors also contributed to a decline in revenue of more than 40% for the New Guards Group, the brand’s management company, in the three months through June 30, 2023. In addition, some reports have rumored that LVMH has discussed the acquisition of Off-White’s licensing rights.

We wonder what kind of collection Off-White will show us at the runway show to be presented on February 29. This season’s participation in Paris Fashion Week is sure to be significant for the brand as it strives to regain its place in the realm of luxury fashion.
